In this series I combine drawings of natural elements overlooked by a tin canoe. These natural elements resonate with my journey as an immigrant, and the pivotal decisions that have altered my life’s path. The tin canoes are repurposed food containers, symbolizing my body as a vessel on this journey.

Rooting Canoes – 2022

This work began in 2022 and it shows my search for connections, creation of community, sense of belonging and construction of meaning in a polarized and changing world. Canoes adrift bobbing on uncertainty while striving to grow in depth and enabling complexity in the process.
